{"id":5166,"date":"2025-11-24T20:45:37","date_gmt":"2025-11-24T20:45:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.glastonburyabbey.org\/?post_type=mec-events&#038;p=5166"},"modified":"2025-11-24T20:45:37","modified_gmt":"2025-11-24T20:45:37","slug":"advent-day-of-reflection","status":"publish","type":"mec-events","link":"https:\/\/backup.glastonburyabbey.org\/index.php\/events\/advent-day-of-reflection\/","title":{"rendered":"Advent Day of Reflection"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As the holy season begins, the Oblates of Glastonbury Abbey invite you to share an \u201cAdvent Day of Reflection,\u201d experiencing the monastic prayer tradition of <em>Lectio Divina<\/em> (sacred reading).\u00a0 This retreat will include an introduction to the method of <em>Lectio Divina<\/em>, as an individual and community practice.\u00a0 Oblates, who live \u201coutside the walls\u201d of the Abbey, will share how they incorporate this tradition into their daily lives.\u00a0 Time will be spent in individual and\/or group <em>Lectio Divina<\/em> focused on Scripture for the Advent season with opportunity to share as a group.\u00a0 In addition, all are welcome to sing and pray any of the Liturgy of the Hours and attend Mass with the Oblates and Monks.\u00a0 Come, join, share this ancient Benedictine prayer practice that befits not only modern-day Benedictine Oblates, but anyone seeking deeper communion with God.\u00a0 All are welcome.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This is an in-person Day Retreat only.
